The “Ask, Seek, Knock Parable” - Luke 11:9-10

Let's talk about the "Ask, Seek, Knock Parable". Luke 11 verses 9 and 10 says, "And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." 

Jesus is  encouraging us to pray with childlike confidence in 3 steps. Ask is the step of requesting and petitioning. When we ask God for what we need, we express our dependence on Him.

Seeking goes beyond asking. It implies active searching and exploration. As we seek, we discover more about God’s will and purpose.

Knocking represents persistence. We are told to KEEP on asking, seeking and knocking. Our prayer should be a continuous persistence. This is more than just throwing up a wish like God is some fountain at the mall that you can throw a penny in. This is an ongoing conversation where you pour your heart out to the Lord and tell Him what you need. These steps imply intensity and earnestness. 

Just as a persistent person eventually receives what they ask for, our consistent knocking on Heave’s door will lead to answer and open doors in due time. 

So, remember: ask, seek, and knock—approach God with confidence, knowing that He hears and responds to your prayers. Pray with all your heart. And I'll see you soon so we can talk about more parables. 

Heavenly Father, we come before you thankful that we can boldly approach your throne of grace. Grateful that you provide for us and want to provide for us. May we always pray in your will and with childlike persistence and faith. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.
