Yeshua, The Almighty Savior - Names of God Bible Series

While exploring the names of God, Yeshua is at the top of my list of favorites. We find it in the Bible 198 times.

Luke 2:30-32

"For my eyes have seen Your salvation (Yeshua), which You have prepared in the presence of all peoples, A LIGHT OF REVELATION TO THE GENTILES and the glory of Your people Israel.”

Matthew 1:21

"And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name [Yeshua-Salvation], for He will save His people from their sins"

The name Yeshua is the Hebrew name for Jesus. It comes from the Hebrew word viU', which means "salvation" or "the Lord saves."

The name was changed to Jesus in the 1611 A.D. English translation of the Bible, commissioned by King James. Some say that believers should view Yeshua with the same honor and respect as Jesus, because it represents Jesus's Hebrew identity and connecting us to His purpose on earth and in heaven.

Father, thank you for sending your son, Yeshua, to be our almighty savior. He cancels out our sins, reconciling us to you. Thank you that He paid our insurmountable debt. Amen.
